  • Areas affected by the new DDW Standardsadobemark (issue date: 10/30/2012): This Director’s Release clarifies issues related to the DD Waiver Standards, effective 11/1/2012.

  • Consumer Recordsadobemark Oct. 29 2012* update (issue date: 10/29/2012): The purpose of this policy is to establish provider requirements for documentation in the Individual Case File for individuals receiving services through the Developmental Disabilities Home and Community Base Waiver (Developmental Disabilities Waiver or DD Waiver), while at the same time minimizing the transmission of documents from one entity to another.

    * Please note: The Director’s Release on Consumer Records Policy is applicable only for individuals’ records that have begun services under the new Medicaid waiver and the 2012 DD Waiver Service Standards.



  • Temporary suspension of the Pre-Service Manual requirement for Internal Service Coordinators, Independent Case Managers and Case Management Supervisorsadobemark:  Effective 3/28/12, this Director’s Release will temporarily suspend the requirement of the Pre-Service Manual for Internal Service Coordinators, Independent Case Managers and Case Management Supervisors as identified in Training Requirements for Case Management Agency Staff Policy, Section II. D.1. and Training Requirements for Direct Service Agency Staff Policy, II.K.1.

  • Changes to Role of Case Managersadobemark: Relates to elimination of two responsibilities currently required of Case Managers. SPECIFIC SECTION OF THE REQUIREMENTS AFFECTED BY THIS RELEASE: A) November 1, 2004 Supporting People on the DD Waiver with Dysphagia/Risk for Aspiration Procedure H.3; and B) A Resource Guide for Independent Case Managers for the Developmental Disabilities Waiver, Chapter II, page 39, “The Health Assessment Tool” bullet.

  • Temporary modifications to the DDSD Policyadobemark: Accreditation of Developmental Disabilities Supports Division Funded Providers with an identified expiration date can request an exemption from the current accreditation requirement under certain conditions.

  • Approval of all Annual Individual Service Plans by Molina -TPA Directors Release and Instructionsadobemark - The DDSD will require Case Managers to submit all Annual Individual Service Plans (ISP), to the TPA-Molina Healthcare of New Mexico for review and approval.

  • Emergency Physical Restraintadobemark - To establish requirements on use of Emergency Physical Restraint procedures to ensure that every individual participating in Medicaid Waiver and State General Fund services supported through the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) is free from the unnecessary use of restrictive physical crisis intervention measures. It also describes procedures to maximize safety when emergency physical restraint must be used to ensure basic health and safety, and establishes requirements for provider agencies and behavior support consultants when emergency physical restraint is recommended and used.


  • Hospitalization Surveillance System adobemark - a new surveillance system to track the use and causation of hospitalizations for individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Family Living and Supported Living Reimbursement and Transition Budget Procedureadobemark - clarifies the policy and procedure for billing, reimbursement and transitioning of Family Living Services and Supported Living Services during the ISP budget year.

  • Consumer Records Requirementsadobemark - to establish provider requirements for documentation in the Individual Case File for individuals receiving services through the Developmental Disabilities Home and Community Based Waiver (DD Waiver).

  • An alert to that there is an increase in Bowel Obstructions and a provision of a list of Bowel Obstructions symptomsadobemark - to alert providers that the DDSD has seen an increase in bowl obstructions.

  • Outlier Service Unit Capsadobemark - corrects the omission in the DD Waiver Service Standards (effective date: April 1, 2007) of service unit caps for Outlier Supported Living and Outlier Adult Habilitation services.
