Respite Services for Children & Adults: Respite service is a flexible family support service. The Respite Care personnel assist the family by providing temporary periods of time away from the caregiver's duties. The Respite Care personnel assist the individual in activities of daily living to promote the individual's health and safety, as well as maintain a clean and safe environment. The family, in collaboration with the Respite Care Service Provider, will arrange respite care. In New Mexico, all Respite services are coordinated through the Family Infant Toddler Program with the exception of the Medically Fragile Waiver Program (see Medically Fragile Respite Services).
