Supports for People with Special Needs:
Did you know that New Mexicans with developmental disabilities can choose to get services in their homes and communities as an option to choosing long-term care facilities for services? The New Mexico Department of Health - Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) has programs that can help in the areas of Medically Fragile and Developmental Disabilities. Infant and Toddler Early Intervention Services are provided through the Family Infant Toddler program. Programs are also available within the Human Services Department, Medical Assistance Division. The services provided through DDSD programs all focus on the person and his/her family, are easy to access and present the best value for the money. DDSD programs are not meant to replace the help New Mexicans get from other sources. There are programs outside of the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division for which you or the individual with disabilities may qualify. Please call the Information Center for New Mexicans with Disabilities toll free at 1-800-552-8195 for more information.
