Special Olympics New Mexico is a program that hosts a series of athletic games for persons with developmental disabilities.
This program fosters independence and self- determination through inclusion in the community and an opportunity to have fun and achieve personal goals related to fitness, teamwork and other benchmarks.

This program promotes and sustains participation from individuals who want to become athletes. The program engages family members, volunteers, coaches, school systems, service providers and civic organizations and seeks to interest all public sectors. Another service provided by Special Olympics New Mexico is the annual newsletter, "The Echo," which brings statewide and national visibility to the program. Through national visibility and an appreciation of the "heart" of the participants, a feeling of true "community" is promoted.

For more information on recruitment, provider collaboration or becoming an athlete please go to the following website: http://www.specialolympicsnewmexico.org/ or call toll free (800) 371-5525 or (505) 856-0342 or write to: Special Olympics New Mexico, 6600 Palomas NE, Suite 207, Albuquerque, NM 87109
