2007 DDSD Statewide Awards
The Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) honored the following people and agencies for demonstrating excellence in Meaningful Day services.  Awards were given in the areas of Best Employer and Employee, Individual Accomplishment, Professional Achievement, Provider Excellence, and Best Community Membership practices.

Employee Success of The Year: Sharon Crouch

Sharon Crouch has been successfully employed with Sonic since October 2006. She developed positive relationships with her co-workers and manager, Tracy Groves. Sharon’s job responsibilities include parking lot clean up, cleaning the menu boards and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant. Sharon is a member of the Sonic team and feels that she is successful. She considers herself to be a valued employee. Sharon enjoys the friendships she has made with her manager and co-workers.

Sharon Crouch started out thirteen years ago attending a day program at Adelante in Albuquerque. Sharon volunteered in the community and won several awards for delivering food for Meals on Wheels and in the senior centers in Albuquerque. Sharon wanted to explore employment. With the help of her team, Sharon achieved her goal of getting a job in her community.

Sharon Crouch’s home-based providers, Fred and Jane Wies, her Adelante support team, and other team members see the growth in Sharon’s life and the opportunities that have opened up for her and are happy for her.
