2007 ddsd statewide directors meeting HONARABLE MENTION CERTIFICATE RECIPIENTS

Raymond Trujillo received Honorable Mention for Community Employer/Employee Partnership - Employee of the Year from DDSD's Statewide Directors Meeting for 2007 for paving the way to show others the importance of work.  Raymond Trujillo started work at Philmont Scout Ranch for the summer season in 2006 as a grounds and general maintenance worker. Raymond's dedication to his job and his good attitude paved the way for him to continue working through the off season and he is a good role model for the first time seasonal workers.

Raymond Trujillo's employer, the Philmont Scout Ranch BSA, received Honorable Mention for Community Employer/Employee Partnership - Employer of the Year.   The Philmont Scout Ranch is a Boy Scouts of America facility that hires people with developmental disabilities to help with general maintenance and grounds keepeing.  Hiring local workers from Cimarron such as Raymond is an asset to the Scout Ranch because he is local and can be on site longer and be available as needed during the off season.

Philmont Scout Ranch BSARaymond Trujillo was hired to work for the summer season but he was so well appreciated that his supervisor extended his hours to work off season as well.  Raymond has always been willing to help out with other tasks in addition to his routine duties. His supervisor and co-workers speak highly of him and feel Raymond is an important part of their team.  Philmont supervisory staff say that having Raymond as an employee is "a good example for the scouts."

Raymond likes to attend functions that the maintenance department staff has organized. For example, Raymond likes to attend the Philmont Scout Ranch cook-out with his co-workers at least once per summer.  Raymond is glad to be a part of the "Philmont family."
