2007 DDSD Statewide Awards
The Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) honored the following people and agencies for demonstrating excellence in Meaningful Day services.  Awards were given in the areas of Best Employer and Employee, Individual Accomplishment, Professional Achievement, Provider Excellence, and Best Community Membership practices.

2007 ddsd statewide directors meeting HONARABLE MENTION CERTIFICATE RECIPIENTS

Honorable Mention: Troy Evans, Business Owner of the Year: troy's beverage Service for his creative idea to start a business in the community on an idea based from a simple love for soda.

Troy Evans received Honorable Mention as Business Owner of the Year for soda machine vending business that he named "Troy's Beverage Service."  Troy loves to drink Cokes.  When his ISP Team met with Troy to consider employment possibilities, Troy decided he would like to go into business refilling soda machines.  His team contacted the Coco Cola Company and they furnished him, as an independent business man, with the soda products and machines.  His team used their community connections and the Yellow Pages to find seven businesses that needed soda vending machines.  Troy eventually landed the opportunity to supply the coke machine at the Mesa Rest Area which is his first large contract.  Now that troy has all the details of setting up a business, he is making money and enjoying something he likes.
