State General Funded Services: Respite Services
For more information on the Family Infant Toddler Respite program, please call toll-free 1-877-696-1472, or email FIT Services Information.
In New Mexico, both Adult and Child Respite services are coordinated through the Family Infant Toddler Program.
Respite Services
At the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD), Respite Services are just as important as any other service that DDSD provides New Mexicans. It is important for family members to be able to take a leave of absence from the intense personal care giving responsibilities involved in caring for their loved ones.
Facility-Based Respite Services
A special program allows respite to be provided through a temporary out-of-home placement. Emergency placements are made to support difficult behavioral or medical conditions and/or to provide support during a family crisis. This one facility that specializes in this service is located in Albuquerque.
Self-Directed Program
One of the many services Self-Directed Program offers is respite, which can be purchased through the program. See Self-Directed Program.
