DDSD programs:

The Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Program provides an array of early intervention services to children with, or at risk for, developmental delay and their families. Currently, the FIT program serves approximately 7,000 children and their families in communities across New Mexico. The FIT program is funded with State General Fund (SGF), Medicaid, and United States Department of Education Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part C dollars.

The Medically Fragile (MF) Waiver provides services to children, and some young adults with very significant medical/health care needs. Services such as nursing and therapies are provided in individuals' homes and reduce the need for hospitalization and/or residential services in a long term care facility. There are approximately 170 individuals on the Medically Fragile Waiver. The Waiver is funded with SGF and Medicaid dollars.

The Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DDW) provides services to individuals of any age with developmental disabilities and related functional needs. These services enhance independence, employment opportunity, and meaningful engagement in community life. Currently there are approximately 3,500 individuals served through this waiver. This waiver is also funded with SGF and Medicaid dollars.

Adult State General Fund (SGF) Program provides Respite Services, Day Habilitation Services, Residential Services and Self-Directed Family Support Services to approximately 2,000 individuals with developmental disabilities across New Mexico. SGF also supports early intervention services, training for providers, Individual Assistance Advocacy services and other special programs. It is also used to match federal funding for Developmental Disability Waiver services.
