What is environmental health?
Environmental Health (EH) is the branch of public health protection that is concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment that may affect human health.
EH is also a field of science that studies how the environment influences human health and disease.

The study of the relationship between environmental exposures and human health.
What is the mission of the Environmental Health Epidemiology Bureau (EHEB)?
To reduce the prevalence of environmentally-related adverse health outcomes
What do we do?
- Conduct surveillance of relevant, prioritized health outcomes
- Identify environmental exposures of concern
- Implement public health promotion through evidence-based approaches
- Incorporate evaluation into our work

The topics can vary but the primary focus areas are:
- Asthma
- Lead poisoning prevention
- Occupational health
- Healthy homes
