The New Mexico Hepatitis Prevention Program is actively engaged in several activities to increase the awareness and prevention of viral hepatitis among high-risk populations.

Education and Training

Adult Hepatitis

The Hepatitis Program, NMDOH, offers free hepatitis A and B immunization to the following high risk adults:

arrow green Persons who are current injection drug users and their sexual contacts

arrow green Men who have sex with men and their sexual contacts

arrow green Persons living with hepatitis C

arrow green Persons living with HIV/AIDS

arrow green Persons living with chronic hepatitis B

arrow green Persons from endemic areas

arrow green Heterosexuals with more than one sex partner in the last six months

arrow green Persons diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease

arrow green Household and sexual contacts of people infected with hepatitis B
