Department of Health Mission Statement:
The mission of the New Mexico Department of Health is to promote health and sound health policy, prevent disease and disability, improve health services systems and assure that essential public health functions and safety net services are available to New Mexicans.

Public Health Division Mission Statement:
To work with individuals, families and communities in New Mexico to achieve optimal health. We provide public health leadership by developing health policy, sharing expertise with the community, assuring access to coordinated systems of care and delivering services to promote health and prevent disease, injury, disability and premature death.
