Welcome ( en

Dear Internet Visitor:
Thank you for visiting the Public Health Region 5 Website. We hope you find this offering to be a valuable resource of information and education for yourself, your family, and neighbors.
This site was set up to provide local residents and out of area persons with easy access to practical, current material on public health programs and services in the southwestern section of New Mexico. It is intended that the narrative and data given here will help New Mexicans better collaborate to improve the health status of residents in this part of the Land of Enchantment. This medium will also allow us to share lessons learned from our challenges and successes in personal and population health services with other interested professionals. As we engage today’s rapidly changing world, the Internet has become an important tool to reach and influence more people about healthy lifestyle choices.
Region 5 staff will be updating and adding to this site on a regular basis. We welcome your ideas and input. If you have questions or comments about the site, please e-mail Patrick Stafford at patrick.stafford@state.nm.us. We are interested in improving clinical and community-based health services we provide to reduce health disparities for Region populations as we partner with other public and non-profit agencies in this border area. Everyday Public Health touches the lives of everyone, protecting safety and well-being, promoting health, preventing disease, providing health and healthcare services, and promulgating prosperity with economic development and social justice.
Sincerely,
Ray Stewart, Director
