Birth Rates: Births per 1000 females, age 15-17 and 15-19.
Rates based on fewer than 20 events may be statistically unreliable.
The % change for counties with less than 20 births is shown with an *.
Baseline average rate calculation: Numerator is the sum of births, 2001-2003, divided by 3.
Denominator is the mid-year population, 2002.
The baseline rate is compared to the current average birth rate due to the number of counties with a small number of births.
