NM PRAMS? What is NM PRAMS? NM PRAMS informs policy makers, healthcare providers
and the public about health of NM mothers and infants. This includes an executive summary and more detailed
reports with the public health context of PRAMS data and actions. Contact NM PRAMS
if you would like a printed copy of the entire Surveillance Report. Because we must wait until the birth year ends and
send our files to CDC for processing, we cannot report data until at least
two years These include reports about teens, individual counties,
newsletters, and presentations. We observe strict rules, defined by CDC protocols,
to protect confidentiality and security. Names and survey responses are
not matched. NM PRAMS samples over 2,000 new mothers each year. A computer
chooses names at random from live birth certificates. Mailed questionnaires are the primary mode of response.
Telephone interviewers call mothers who do not respond by mail. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) PRAMS project in Atlanta, Georgia provides funding and technical support through the Cooperative Agreement U50/CCU613632. Other funders include The NM PRAMS Steering Committee consists of members from the community and the NM Department of Health. NM PRAMS reports and web pages are not official CDC reports.
